My Next Life Chapter

Many of you have been wondering what in the world I’m going to be doing next (or maybe more like where in the world).  Well, I have an answer to that question: I’m moving to Gainesville, Georgia!  I’ve been accepted into a program through Adventures in Missions (the same organization I did the World Race and Kingdom Journeys through) called Center for Global Action (CGA).  I’ll move down south September 16th.

I am incredibly passionate about people knowing their worth and how much they’re loved.  I strive to help people find hope despite the most hopeless of circumstances.  I believe that there is restoration for every kind of trauma and emotional wound.  These are the things that drive me.  This has led me to have a desire to work with people who are sexually exploited/trafficked.  These people often have no sense of worth, love, or hope.  They have had experiences and circumstances they may believe they can never overcome.  I can’t hear their stories and choose to do nothing, not when I can offer them restorative love and a hope for a future in Jesus Christ.  Working in this field is my long-term ministry goal and the 8 month program of CGA will give me teaching and equipping for this field.  In April I will take a two week, international trip so I can put into practice the things I will learn during this time.

I’m also at a place in life where I feel like I need some time to be poured into, to learn, to grow, and to give my own relationship with the Lord some special attention.  At CGA I will be discipled while also learning to disciple others, deepening my relationship with the Lord through scripture and inner transformation, doing outreach, and living in community.  I’m looking forward to this aspect of my time there as well.

During the afternoons and weekends I will have a part-time job.  It looks like I’ll most likely be working at Bojangles.  Southern chicken and biscuits, y’all! (If you didn’t believe I was moving to the south before, do you believe me now)?  Not only will this job cover my various expenses but it also gives me an opportunity to take the things I learn at CGA each day and apply them to life in the community.

Although I will have a job in Georgia, this program does still require some fundraising.  I need a total of $8,650 to cover the costs of CGA, the international trip, and my housing.  I have been SO thankful for every gift that has been given to me over the last two (nearly three) years.  The relationship I now have with the Lord, the ways I’ve been able to watch Him work, the things He’s done in and through me, the places I’ve seen, all the people I’ve met, and the friends I’ve made these last two years wouldn’t have been possible without you.  I am truly grateful beyond words.  Fundraising in itself is never enjoyable or easy, but God has always provided the funds I’ve needed, sometimes in miraculous fashion, and so I know He will come through for me again.  If you feel led and want to partner with me in this way to help further God’s kingdom, you can give by clicking where it says “Donate!” at the top of my blog.  Anything is helpful and every little amount adds up and is used by God.  If you are interested in being a monthly supporter and committing a certain amount to donate each month until I reach my goal, let’s chat!  I need to reach $3,000 by the time I arrive in Georgia on September 16, so the sooner the better! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for taking the time to read about what I’m up to and for all your support!
